You are a Light

The world can feel dark at times — filled with discouragement, brokenness, and uncertainty. But as daughters of God, we carry His light within us. Wherever we go, we have the opportunity to shine His hope and truth to those around us.

Jesus reminds us in Matthew 5:14: “You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden.”

Notice that He doesn’t say, “You might be light” or “Try to be light.” He says you are the light. When Christ lives in you, His light naturally shines through your words, actions, and even your presence. Sometimes it’s in big ways, but often it’s in the small moments—a kind word, a listening ear, or a prayer offered for someone who needs encouragement.

Being a light doesn’t mean you have to have everything together or always be cheerful. It means letting God’s love reflect through you, even when life is hard. It’s about being authentic, faithful, and willing to share the hope that sustains you.

And here’s the beautiful part: light always overcomes darkness. Even the smallest spark can change an entire space. Your light, no matter how small it feels, makes a difference in the lives of those around you.

So, embrace your role as a light-bearer today. Let His presence shine through you, and trust that God is using you in ways you may never fully see.

Lord, thank You for calling me to be a light in this world. Help me to reflect Your love and truth in everything I do. May my life point others toward You and bring hope to those in darkness. Amen.
